The need for a Savior is not always readily apparent in our culture.   Today we have many in this country that are outraged over the idea that the gender they were born with dictates which facilitates try they should use in public places.  We have irreligionists attempting to pray at public events because they believe they have a right to say outrageous things in public.  There are many different scenarios playing out in the public square right now that demand an answer.  The answer must be thoughtful, coherent, and true.

Why should we answer the differing ideas that are being presented as rights with truth?  Truth is not subject to an “interpretation” or opinion.  Truth by definition is exclusive.  Therefore competing ideas that are mutually exclusive cannot both be true.  My thoughts are that unless flawed ideas are examined and exposed in the light of truth they will continue to flourish. A lie loves darkness.  Light is the answer.

Jesus said:

13  “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt should lose its taste, how can it be made salty? It’s no longer good for anything but to be thrown out and trampled on by men.

14  “You are the light of the world. A city situated on a hill cannot be hidden.

15  No one lights a lamp and puts it under a basket, but rather on a lamp stand, and it gives light for all who are in the house.

16 In the same way, let your light shine t before men, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven.

We should be able to look at the topics in the news and in our neighborhoods and make the right determination regarding how to handle each of these with the same love, grace and truth that the Lord Jesus exemplifies for us in the gospels.  In this way we have certain essential things in common regardless of our denominations, we have light, we have truth, we have love, we have what this nation needs, but we must speak and more importantly live it in front of them. As outraged as we might be about someone’s actions we must speak love to them. We have to have sound logic and irrefutable reason as well as the truth of the gospel with us when we speak. We have to provide answers that are compassionate, cohesive, coherent, and relevant.

We must be able to show people that what they seek through other means is found only in Jesus. This requires us to understand what each person is seeking and why they are seeking it. This will only happen through relationships being built. Relationships can only be built by intentional action.  We must be determined to reach an individual for the purpose of winning them to Christ.  This saves the individual and gives them the Object of their desires that they were seeking all along through flawed means.
